Barcelona are set to launch one final bid for Chelsea defender David Luiz, while West Brom near a loan deal for an Udinese striker.

05.09 BST: According to the Daily Star, Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho will make a move for Samuel Eto'o - if Chelsea fail in their bid to land Wayne Rooney. Eto’o’s current club, Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala, are looking to sell the 32-year-old.

Barca have been eager to bolster their defensive line over the summer, pursuing the likes of Thiago Silva and Daniel Agger, but ultimately falling short of their respective clubs' valuations. Luiz is another defender to be consistently linked with a Camp Nou switch, and the Daily Mirror reports the La Liga giants are for one final push for the Brazilian this week. In what could be a crucial period of the transfer window for both clubs, Luiz will sit down with Blues boss Jose Mourinho on Monday to determine his future.

One the back of reports on Sunday that Arsenal are closing in on Bayern Munich's Luis Gustavo, the Guardian and Telegraph insist the deal is nearing completion. Gustavo has slipped down the Bayern pecking order and Arsene Wenger appears certain to pounce this week.

The Sun claims West Brom are poised to complete the signing of Udinese front-man Matej Vydra. The Czech Republic international is expected to move to the Baggies in a season-long loan deal which may be finalised as early as Monday. The news comes as West Brom aim to strengthen their squad ahead of the coming Premier League campaign.

QPR are also remaining active in the transfer market, with the Daily Mirror reporting they have surged ahead of West Ham for Colombian striker Duvan Zapata. Harry Redknapp has been busily assembling his squad in recent weeks as he attempts to force Rangers back into the Premier League after finishing bottom of the table last season.
