Deny harbouring Boko Haram members
Operators of Kara abattoir
and cattle market, Isheri, under bridge, Berger area in Ifo local
government area of Ogun State, have said that the arrest of one of
the fleeing Boko Haram members by Police in the state was facilitated
by them.
They said the police acted on their tip off which led to
the eventual arrest of the Boko Haram member who fled from Maiduguri to
Ogun state.
Reacting to a report that a Boko Haram member was
being harboured in the market , the authorities of the market described
the allegation as a mere speculation.
In a press statement signed
by Seriki Nkara, Chief Ganiyu Babalola and Seriki Hausa and Deputy
Chairman of the market Badamosi Sokoto made available to newsmen in
Abeokuta, yesterday, the opearators said they have no relationship in
any manner with Boko Haram or any insurgent group.
Ogun state
Police have arrested one suspected Boko Haram who fled the beleaguered
Maiduguri to Ogun state three weeks ago in the area.
Reacting to
the arrest of the suspect in the market, the operators said “the truth
is that as in every successful market, all and sundry attend everyday
for the purpose of buying and selling and our own market is not an
exception and no market has any control over those that come to buy and
sell in the market.
